I think the story shows us how tales are transmitted from one generation to another. Each culture has its own tales which can be about real life experiences occurred to someone, love stories or just imaginative ones. Most of these tales are told by an old person, someone who has lived more than us like our grandfathers. In fact this is what happens in the text “Tales in the sand”. Once the young man reached manhood and returned to the tribe his grandfather promised him to tell him a tale after looking for something. The young man brought a piece of glass to his grandfather and he started telling the tale of ‘The city of glass’ which once existed and was ruled by a beautiful queen called Nada.
Tales in the Sand is basically about a love story between the Queen Nada and the Loard of the dreams called Kai’ckul. But this love seems to be impossible because mortals don’t marry the endless. The fact that they love each other causes the destruction of the City of Glass. This situation makes Nada fells herself extremely guilty and she prefers to refuse her true love although Kai’ckul promises her infinite love and to be the Queen of his Dream world.
In my opinion one of the gaps of the story is Love, so I have chosen the following part of the story which calls my attention. The Loard of the Dreams asked Nada, the Queen of the city of glass: “Why did you flee me?”” I love you more than a mortal man has ever loved a woman”...and I wonder Can a human being love a woman as the endless or god does? This is the big question that most of us have asked to ourselves more than once. For me there is a big answer that I want to share with you: As God could not live alone he first created the World and then one man and one woman. It is written that when God created man he did it in his own image. From the beginning God loved his creations with infinite love that he desired such love for human beings. Likewise the owner and master of absolute love is God but we inherited that love for the simple reason of being his loved creations. What’s more man was created to meet a woman who could make him happy, and woman was created to meet a man who could make her happy. God’s love and Human love are essentially the same. People love each other to become one and if they center their love on God, that love becomes the highest and most beautiful love that shines forever.
My Endless Love
